It is rare to come across a form of entertainment that manages to leave you in delight and complete satisfaction. People are often left flabbergasted at the amount of money spent on films, which are often not worth their hard earned dollars. With this said, it is time to sway from the meaningless Hollywood films and return to the original form of entertainment, rooted in theatrical performance.

Norm Foster's Storm Warning is a primary example of entertainment at its best! Inspired by real events, Norm Foster takes the experiences of his WWII veteran father and his nationally-known sense of humor to bring this comedic drama to the stage.

Phi Bulani gives an outstanding performance as Jack, a loner veteran whose voluntary seclusion is infringed upon by the amphetamine-addicted, hyperactive Emma, played by the ever-so-talented Debra Hale. Through cleverly written, sidesplitting dialogue, these opposite individuals help one another overcome personal issues.

Despite the sparse cast of two, this play lacks nothing. It is a straightforward play - with two simple settings - that has the power to capture your attention, make you laugh, and pull at your heartstrings all at the same time. Bulani and Hale hold nothing back as they give an all-out performance that can only be described as mesmerizing.

The play, which deserves more publicity than it receives, runs until November 26th at the Walmer Centre in Toronto. Make it a point to see Storm Warning this week.
